am not sure that was a penalty though. feels wrong that lacazette was rewarded for poor technique. if he had struck the ball I am not convinced there would have been much coming together.
It looked very soft, but accidental is still a foul.
@almac68 > Lamela first yellow card was harsh,
yeah, but the three he skipped throughout the rest of the game was lenient. You can't go around like a prick picking a fight with every other player and get away with it.
Only edged? For 80 minutes is was all Arsenal, mourinho's setup for the game was an utter mistake that cost them badly, until the 80th minute lamela's mishit was there only shot, let alone shot on target.

yeah I say only edged as I don't recall Lloris being that busy either. picking the ball out of the net twice was pretty much his only exertion in the game.

He was due a clear 3 or 4 yellows, there can't be complaints when 2 of them catch you out.
When I said “stupid”, I meant on his part - he was stupid to stick an arm out like that when on a yellow. He’d been looking to wind Arsenal players up from the minute he came on, all very petty and reminiscent of Spurs under Pochettino

The old Argie Bargie? Can I say that? Sounds like it might be worth a watch, much incident, Lamela sent off, Spuds get twatted, what's not to like?
Reminds me of being called an Argie by my less intelligent classmates during the Falklands War... "You speak dago, don'tcha?" Charming...

yeah would like to see a retrospective red given. don't suppose that will happen
-
• #155783
Can’t see that happening to an England captain either, he’s just not that kind of player /s

• #155784
thats a stright red ...

• #155785
"Shearer's Law" FA will avoid disciplining the international captain.

Not least that it ends people's careers,cf Mathieu Debuchy.
The action is a red in rugby and is even banned in ice hockey.

Nervy game tonight. Hoping the fact Athletico needing to score will open it up for Chelsea a bit.
Haverts to score. Chelsea to win a nervy 2-1

Fair summary, Chelsea now look much more assured than under Frank

Was good to see Haverts showing why he was bought he showed glimpses early on. But I think the covid thing must have really hit him he looks s new player in the last few games.

That's a standard challenge in Scottish football these days, no?
yep Kane should definitely have got a yellow, possibly even a red. had no intention of playing the ball.
am not sure that was a penalty though. feels wrong that lacazette was rewarded for poor technique. if he had struck the ball I am not convinced there would have been much coming together.
in all though I reckon arsenal edged the game. Son off early was big loss to spurs. despite the one moment of brilliance from that twat lamela
