That’s interesting about the 2.7 over the 3.2 - I’m on a Boxster forum and the hive mind over there is thinking along the same likes as you.
As for the anniversary, they’re still holding their money and I gather the sports suspension was a rather expensive option at the time that most buyers didn’t take up.
The missus has heated seats in her land yacht and I thought I’d unwittingly soiled myself before I realised that this thing was set to Turkish prison™️ Levels of “warming”

The anniversary suspension would be M030 I assume? That’s just Billstein B4 with -10mm springs, or maybe B6 (not sure on the Boxster).
The thing that will make a massive difference is how the car is aligned (and whether there’s any life left in the dampers).
Not sure on the 2.5/2.7 but the crank is shared between the 3.2 and the 3.4, it’s really only cylinder bore and intake that separates 986 from 996.
I’m struggling to remember now but the 3.2 Boxster cams may be the same as the 3.4 911 engine also.
I thought cruise was fairly common. Mine had it. No resume function though which is a bit of an omission.
Heated seats were the rare option, not that I ever used them, as it lived in the garage.
Don’t get an Anniversary or anything with the sports suspension option, as it’s too competent to be fun on the road, and maybe don’t get an S but get a 2.7 instead because the engine is only really good when you rev the tits off it and in a 3.2 you just can’t without risking your licence.
