the back of the TV is on show because of the railings/split level, so this was a middle ground

Apple TV remote works on bluetooth so doesn't need line of sight, you could stick it around the corner/wherever the socket is and just have a longer HDMI running to the telly?

yeah we could, might do that when we have an actual unit over the other side for all the stuff to live, right now its just an extension cord and the router sat on the floor
