• Un amigo chileno me ha preguntado cual tipo de bici debería comprar. Me cuesta hablar sobre asuntos así cuando se necesita vocabulario específico. Entonces, como se dice las partes de la bicicleta? (Please feel free to correct any of that or anything else I write)

Tyre - is it ‘rueda’ as I think that is wheel? Internet say neumático but i reckon that’s just for cars. Can also see llanta but never heard that before. I’ve heard goma, but I don’t think that’s universal.

    Inner tube?

    ‘I got a puncture’ - me pinchas??

Etc so forth... maybe we should critique bikes in here in Spanish. Spanish ones. Zeus. Orbea etc

    Ramblings over.

  • Bicycle - bicicleta
Bike - bici but might sound infantile, bicla if you want to sound cool

    Frame - cuadro
    Fork - tijera
    Tube- tubo

    Wheel - rueda
    Tyre - llanta, neumático
    Inner tube - cámara
    Valve - válvula
    Spoke - Rayo
    Hub - maza
    Axle - eje
    Lfgss - el lufgus
    Freewheel- rueda libre
    Fixed gear - piñón fijo
    Air - aire

    Saddle - asiento

    Gears - cambios
    Derailleur- desviador (delantero o trasero)
    Chain-cadena
    Cog - piñón
    Chainset - multiplicación delantera
    Pedals - pedales

  • Perfecto, gracias.

Y es correcto decir ‘tengo una ponchadura / un pinchazo’?

I.e I have / I’ve got, like in English? Or can you only say the bike has a puncture? And do you still use tener?
