Last year while building my ultimate dadmobile I bought this 62cm Straggler from Northwest Bikes in Seattle and had it shipped to the UK. There were none in Europe at the time and given how much cheaper Surly frames are in the States it worked out about the same as buying one here even including shipping and import duty. Seems like the situation is the same now with few Stragglers around in Europe until September this year.
However, as some of you may know from this thread the frame showed up bent.
Due to the box being stored sideways with other stuff on top (I guess) the rear triangle on the drive side had bent inwards significantly. The plastic axel thing that supports the dropouts during transit had shattered and one of the much-discussed dropout adjustment screws had bent right over. The frame was otherwise fine and the forks were completely undamaged too.
I took the frame in to Mario and Winston at Vahrona Frameworks and Winston bent the rear triangle back into shape, but advised that I don't ride it as is. The paint is slightly cracked where the bend took place so there may be actual damage underneath. It is pretty true now, but I'm sure it's not perfect.
He quoted me 270 to replace both the driveside and otherwise rear triangles, and also told me all the technicals about how much better the frame would be than an off the shelf surly! His brother Mario upstairs then quoted me 150 for a full strip and respray.
In the end I sacked it off and bought a Kepler.
So... I no longer want this frame knocking about so it's up for sale cheap cheap
You could
1) build it up as is and ride it at your own risk. This is what I would have done in my younger more reckless years, but I didn't want to risk that with my boy on the back in his childseat!
2) buy it because you want the fork and then bin the frame
3) have Winston repair it for 270 then rattle can it and have yourself a bargain straggler
4) go the whole hog and get it rebuilt and resprayed and then you have yourself a bargain
Writing this at 5:30am with a 3 day old baby on my lap having not yet been to sleep, so forgive any omissions.
NB the 3 day old baby is my child, in case you were wondering...
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:

Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
