I wish they'd just get stock of their fucking parts again. I need more extended mounting plates.

I have a big fear that the new Wahoo pedals and cleats won’t be backwards compatible with the proper Speedplay versions.
Then Wahoo stop making spare parts for the older kit, forcing people to “upgrade”.

I have enough Speedpray kit to last a long time and then I will be upgrading to flat pedals and selling the grrl's Wahoo. But I think it's unlikely they'd pull something so shady when so many people have the system already. They will still get the business eventually as opposed to pissing off a load of users.

Any idea of release date?

Phil Gaimon posted a picture of these about a week ago and quickly deleted it. I think someone in the comments mentioned the 16th. I just ordered some new speedplay speedplays but might hold off installing until they release the details of the new ones (spares etc as others say).

still no replaceable C spring
-
• #1262
Well that was disappointing

• #1263
So they just made them heavier?
Thank F*** they retained backwards compatibility.
-
• #1264
Does that mean new cleats work with old pedals?
-
• #1265
Heavier, but no need to add grease.
They do look more durable to be fair.Seems like the one to go for is the Speedplay Zero stainless and change to a Ti spindle (like before)
-
• #1266
Why not cromo and change to Ti? Are they different bodies?
-
• #1267
Heavier, but no need to add grease.

So you can sell your stainless axles to the poor schmuck who bought the cromo ones.

Smart

Not a serious answer ofc. I don't know what the axle compatibility of pedals that aren't yet available to buy is.

“The main refinements to the pedals include sealed bearings, which Wahoo claims removes the need for regular maintenance; updates to the pedal body which are said to increase durability; and refinement of the spindle sees the removal of wrench flats in favour of hex key adjustment.”

That’s true, considering my buying habits, I’d probably buy the ti one and buy a marginally lighter ti spindle...

removal of wrench flats
Fucking dead to me!

poor schmuck who bought the cromo ones.
All mine are cromo.
The poor schmucks are the ones that used valid beer tokens for potentially 'better looking pedal axles'.How many relationships have started on this Earth because you had shinier pedal axles? I bet there's loads of women out there that never even spoke to me because of the state of my pedals axles. Damn my budgetry considerations!

I was joking (he says, staring at a new pair of stainless axle bad boys that just came through the letterbox).
They were fine for another six months or so. With the pedal engaged the C spring is pushed into the cleat as normal and functions fine. I don’t think it’s an issue really.
One C spring did snap eventually (after three or four years) but I’d got new cleats in the parts box by then so all good.
