This case is going from bad to worse. Now it’s coming out there was an allegation of indecent assault in a fast food restaurant 3 days before but the police didn’t do anything.

Valerie Jean Solanas was an American radical feminist and author best known for writing the SCUM Manifesto, which she self-published in 1967, and attempting to murder Andy Warhol in 1968.
I seem to recall that there was some suggestion from people around Solanas (and maybe Solanas herself) that it was a satirical art piece not a real manifesto. Might also have misremembered.

Suspect copper treated for a self-inflicted head wound.
The fast food place where he exposed himself was McDonalds. He of all people must have know the place is covered by cctv. He basically acted in a way that guaranteed he'd get caught, now he's smashing his head open in his cell.

Sources said that officers were trawling through the background of Wayne Couzens, including his activities during previous careers.
ummm shouldn't they do that before they accept him into the police force,

I forsee a lot of contempt of court charges relating to this case. The amount of media speculation going on is horrendous.

He was actually back on duty guarding the US Embassy AFTER exposing himself in McDs. Amazing. But why would he act in a way that pretty much guaranteed detection?
-
• #63560
the fact that the standard is splashing yer man's name and pic all over the shop suggests he's been formally charged, no?

He's still just a suspect.
It does seem as if there was a missed opportunity:
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has begun an inquiry into
the handling of that incident by two officers amid fears that they
might have missed an opportunity to arrest him. It is understood that
the officers had carried out a number plate check on a vehicle after
the offence was reported online and obtained the name of its owner.
But they had yet to carry out an interview.Couzens was not identified as a suspect in the flashing incident until
he was linked to it by homicide detectives after they had made him the
key suspect in Ms Everard’s disappearance and started investigating
his background.I'm just thinking, exposing yourself in McD's guarantees detection. Maybe he was desperate to show people how sick he was but he escaped arrest and then the worst thing happened.

Which means he exposed himself in a place smothered with cctv then drove off IN HIS OWN CAR. I mean, he was begging to get nicked.

Things like this develop over time. Who knows when and how it started for him.
Such an absolutely horrible case. Nothing but waste, for nothing.

Yep, sounds like a breakdown.

Another dreadful case is that of the murders of Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman in Fryent Country Park last year. It's just started in court. The accused is an 18-year-old.
Also, apparently, police officers took pictures of the crime scene and 'shared' them on-line.

That's quite a resume!
