Just put a set of Aivee hubs on Pacenti SL23 with CX Ray spokes on. Dropped 200g to 8.2kg. And hopefully is a tad stiffer to boot.
Keen to make it 7.99kg. Just because.
Weighed the saddle and post:
Saddle: 248g
Seatpost: 309g
Clamp: 20gShould be some low-hanging fruit there. If the specs are accurate, this would give me 160g alone:
Anyone used one? Supposed to be decent quality, no?

Just ride the bike and loose weight.

I've lost 6kg in recent months. And I've put in over 3,200 miles already this year. But thanks for your (predictable) input.

Oh Ed, that's not the point.

My saddle is 67g and I ride all day. Its a Smud full carbon jobbie. Thats a big saving there. May not work for you. But you should be able to drop at least 100g off the saddle.
This will mean carbon rails so be careful With post Choice. But that USE is good for carbon rails I think.
Light bikes are awesome. And are actually light regardless of the owners weight.

I don't get it. Build bike with alu frame and ultegra - a nice, balanced build, then spend several pages weighing it and discussing weight savings e.g. shiny carbon. It's not particularly hard to build a sub 7KG bike.

Saddle: 248g
Saddle: Fake SMP Carbon, 120g.
Seatpost: easily with Thomson Masterpiece, under 200g.
Clamp; forget about it.
Tyres: Vittoria Corsa G in 25mm with latex inner tube if you're serious, or the lighter GP4000sII in 25mm.
Steerer: cut it down.

Steerer's been cut down, incrementally. Another 15mm will go once new spacer arrives in post. I already have Corsa G tyres on. Have latex tubes but slightly afraid of them. May put one in rear. Had a Thomson on originally and got a lot of stick for it on here.

I may have spent a little bit of time discussing it online, but I've also been out riding it in Wales, upstate New York and the French/Swiss Alps.

If you're worry about fitting latex tubes, I'm quite happy to help show you some method of fitting them without pinching.
You'll reap the biggest benefit from latex since this is your proper road bike rather than a road/commuter that everyone in St Pauls are into (cue lots of worn out drivetrain after 6 weeks of purchasing).

Sub 7kg Carbon is boring
Sub 7kg alu is a challenge and frankly more interesting -

So I'll be needing a new front rim.

Just saw that on the gram. Glad you didn't come off!!

Old school SLR Ti and one of those hylix seatposts. Kalloy stem with Ti bolts. Lots of weight to be saved for not that much

That was sketchy AF .. I think I jinxed it by saying 'take it easy'

Set this up tubeless and popped new (non-power meter) pedals on, and it’s coming in at 7.9kg

The BatBike is no more. Long live the Ritchey.

Good luck getting that under 7kg

Sparko isn't a weight weenie any more
-

Sparko is fat now.
Got the Praxis but need two Shimano BB tools to fit, so that's on hold for the mo. Fitted a 120mm stem and trimmed a little more steerer. Getting pretty sorted now.
