  • The whole NVPA or whatever the fuck they are doing is just fucking nonsense. Are they launching the apple Mackintosh? I'm confused. If you are going to riff on people and other brands at least go big like Godnfamous. Those guys are ace.

They are tarnished by the guy who doped.

@andyp their kit was on sale at Giant St Pauls. I blame dave the rave.

PNS sizing is totally ridc. And pricey. The international cycle club, well Rapha are doing it too, albeit much better. PNS is founded by https://www.instagram.com/karloskarolsen/?hl=en
I actually like some of his Wood Wood stuff and collabs he has pulled off in the past. I wouldn't buy it PNS tho, albeit they do support women's cycling and participation, its not an inclusive brand (they could work harder on this)...

I contacted them (PNS) to get some bits for a prize draw/competition and they sent me a whole load of free stuff and they totally didn't need to do that. So kudos.

  • its not an inclusive brand

A lot of what PNS are or aspire to be is basically "Rapha 10 years ago". A lot of their ambassadors are ex-Rapha. A lot of the regulars on their rides are ex-RCC. Their doing a January 500 of sorts. They have a mobile cycle club. etc etc. It's well executed, but not very original.
They're obviously very popular here in their hometown and a lot of their customers moved on (up?) when the plebs / recreational riders started to wear Rapha. The irony is for a brand owned by a fashion designer their loyal customers pretty much wear a uniform (block colour jersey, white sock, white S-Works shoes, Prizm road Oakley etc. And half of them ride S-Works Tarmac or their Cannondale collab. You should see their club ride. It's about status but in a very let's not stick out too much Danish way.
Can't deny the commercial success though. Here at least.

  • Great, now I feel even worse about my sworks tarmac

  • this is pretty much spot on, but i would add that the long-term goal for PNS seems to be a lot more fashion-related than Rapha, which seems obvious. they were having a pop-up corner in Soho for a while along with other brands, WoodWood among them..
About the "club" though yes, the rides pics are a somewhat painful ... let's just say that diversity does not come naturally

  • My main objection to PNS is the fact that it looks a lot like PENIS.

  • Are these the same quality as the real Pro Team ones? They are everywhere on eBay and I'm due a few new pairs.

  • just had an instagram targeted ad for NVPA. really very bad. i don't completely hate PNS given the scandi vibes and wood wood association - but it is very poser/pretentious. regarding both of those brands; words on clothing in general just reminds me of this;

  • Have you ever cleaned up your own mothers piss?

  • The woman on the pic thought it was funny BTW.

  • It's about status but in a very let's not stick out too much Danish way.

This made me laugh... they seem happy though in their own way I guess.

The thing is now you have brands riffing on the PNS vibe tho. It's all a bit cringe.

Imagine the stress of going on a PNS ride. OMFG, not sure one could cope trying to acheive "belonging", both financially and mentally.

  • The best thing you can do is not go all-in on any of these brands. Just choose the best kit for the job, whoever makes it.

Full Kit Wanker is a bad look, anyway. Clue’s in the name.

  • half of it looks like

    ..almost definitely been posted before

  • Full kit wanker is a bad look

Wuuut? FKW is the only complete look. I blame Gravel and check shirts for this malaise, this lack of ambition :)

Just make sure it’s a real club/team/gaggle and collectively come up with your own kit. It’s quite easy and minimums order sizes are pretty small these days.

  • I assume you have bought the leggings already

  • I’m referring to the anti-brand clash brigade, not club kit wearers. People out there riding around as if they’re in a Vimeo.

  • Turning up to go for a ride in the same kit as a mate (unless club kit) is even worse. A month ago and still not over it.

  • Has anyone photoshopped a PNS thing with FKW? Seems like low-hanging fruit.

  • 10p

  • Full Kit Wanker

That's pro team kit head-to-toe though, not single-brand.

  • Sorry just seen this. I haven't compared side by side tbh but they feel like 'cycling socks' i.e. different thicknesses in different places, tight fitting, long. I'd be happier if they were plain white, but I'm about to order a few new pairs for summer.

  • You’re mistaking PNS for a capitalist enterprise. It’s an international cycling club. I think its customers believe this.

  • Pretty much all the stuff posted on this thread is that (speaking as someone who buys cycling jerseys in the bargain bin in lbs).

  • The new Van Rysel stuff from Decathlon looks quite nice.
