I'll wait until it arrives and see how the wheel fits I suppose, but I won't be forcing it. I thought 753 couldn't be cold set, though?

Your probably right. The only reason I'm hopeful I'll get away with it is because the seller send me a photo of the frame with a modern Mavic Ksyrium rear wheel in when I asked him to show me the clearances, and as far as I know they are all 130 spacing

Thinking this is starting to come together ok.
An annoyance is that "mid reach" brakes are just a hair too short for the fork. The Dia Compe BRS202 in front is not that nice. The wheel set is a bit temporary. Having a set of blue Phil hubs that need to be built up, question is which rims.

Looking good!
What hubs are on current wheelset?

Cheers! Dia Compe low flange hubs, Im well happy with them but they are normally fitted on another build.
Not sure what color scheme to go for the new wheels. Blue hubs with black rims and spokes? The current ones do look decent with the silver bits.

Kinlin offerings are cheap and just solid - @broken_777 is a top wheelbuilder (arkane wheelworks) so maybe send him a message?
RE the brakes - have you thought of just getting v-brakes mounts braised on?

• #128359
Im based in Munich Germany so I might have to sort this out locally. :)
But for sure it would be an option, same goes with the braised on mounts for v-brakes.

Absolutely lush.

I have one of those at my parents, I should probably sell it actually, as I dont really need it any more.

That's nice.
It the nubbin behind the headtube for a pump or is it some king of number-holder?
-
• #128367
I'm pretty sure its for a frame pump. I'm planning on keeping an eye out for a nice matching one or similar that fits.

They’re great on a winter bike.
Even a silver Topeak wouldn’t look too out-of-place.

That looks good
Beautiful frame! Since 653 has a 753 rear triangle, I‘d try to have it cold-set properly, rather than forcing a 130mm rear wheel in.
