Who do you think then?
Suggest VDP certainly out of the equation but the other two could still go well, on tired legs mind you. -
• #31653
G!? On that profile. Climbing legs with a track-sprint history?
Could be a great stage.

A proper climber like Bernal or Pogacar. That final climb is too long and too steep for MVDP and WVA. Alaphillipe might hang on, but if he does he’ll take the leader’s jersey so will likely trade that for the stage win.

This climb. It's not 'Mt Ventoux steep' but Pogi will be the man to beat I guess. However I'd love to be surprised. How well did WVA do on comparable TdF cols last year?

With no Rog, it’s Pog.

So which of the 3 are going to win the stage tomorrow?
Loulou

In my head I had the statistic that one of those 3 have won in any race that they've all started in mind.
Obviously tomorrow doesn't suit them.WvA has some GC aspirations here from the sounds of it, and we know that he is capable of dropping most of the peloton up climbs, and it is pretty steady and not too steep.
I'd like to see Bernal do well, but reckon its more for the TT/climbers like Pogacar/Thomas?
I'm sure we'll see the Jumbo and Ineos mountain trains in action tomorrow.

He'll probably climb out of the saddle from the bottom to 3/4 up the climb with the leaders, and then weave across the road and point to his rear mech.
He did pretty well on Ventoux to be fair.

It looked like he took in the comments on the Strade Bianche celebration and rehearsed something else for his next win.. MVDP on here?
-
• #31661
He’s a regular in the cyclocross racing thread...
-
• #31662
WVA is at least a couple of kgs off his Tour weight at the moment. He was always dropped when the GC riders started racing too. Can’t see him winning tomorrow.

Are you saying Wout is fat?
-
• #31664
yup, posts as "damskodonny" iirc
-
• #31665
I'm saying he's preparing for a different objective than the Tour, where weight is less of an issue.

the course on the Healthy Ageing Tour today looked amazing. Good race too
