  • She's stunning, do you still own her?

  • please don't call it a 'her'.

  • Not sure where to post this. Just bought a Ritchey Logic frame that was described as a lightly handled demo frame that had never been built. It arrived with a chip at the bottom of the fork, can someone reassure me that this is not going to be structural? Many thanks

  • lightly handled

I've got a Road Logic I'm about to put up for sale, its done 1500 miles. It doesn't have any damage nearly as bad as that!

It's hard to tell from the picture but looks like more than just a paint chip.

    What size?

  • It's a bit disappointing, the bike shop assured me over the phone, that finger prints on the top tube were the only marks on the bike. It was only 800 for the frameset though, not sure whether to take a chance and keep it. I've added a few better pics of the damage.

  • Its a 55cm, one of the grey ones.

I still need to get a box for postage

  • That looks even worse, but doesn't look structural to me. is it just the paint that's chipped ?

I don't think I'd be too bothered about riding it, but I think you have a right to complaint about the description.

  • I'm think it's just the paint, the carbon looks pretty smooth underneath. My only concern is that it must have taken a fair impact to do that damage. The bike shop offered a £30 refund, which seems a little cheap to me. The again, how do you quantify a paint chip. Would you recommend the bike, do they ride well?

  • How much do you want for it? always fancied a road logic...

  • Perfect. Pm'd

  • not to comment on the situation one way or another in terms of impact, but if you're not happy with the condition its in on receipt of the good or their reduction, return the item

always more frames, especially for £800

  • The shop will accept the return, but I'm going to keep it precisely because there's not much else about. Brexit/covid has decimated stock and added about 20% to prices, I haven't seen anything of equivalent quality at that price point. First world problems......

  • Can you negotiate a partial refund? Enough to cover a different fork if needed in future?

  • What about the dental fees?

  • I tried they topped out at £30.

  • Ex demo frame, covered by warranty?

  • Not sure the warranty will cover what appears to have been a bang to the frame. Going to have to get some car touch up paint and ride with a gum shield.

  • Don’t know what the warranty rules are about purchasing demo items from shops with cosmetic damage, assuming they note it as cosmetic.

  • 1st, I wasn't talking to you
    2nd f*"k off

  • 1st, doesn’t matter, @jeff80 was talking to you.

2nd, there’s no swear filter here. If you want someone to fuck off at least have the gumption to tell them properly.

3rd, maybe have a read of this and this before making any more posts.

  • Nice little video on the history of the Swiss Cross. CX racing on 28mm tyres looks like a challenge!
