Steel Pinarello Road Frameset (L) / Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra SLX (L) / Columubus Minimal - PRICE DROPS

Two really nice steel road frame-sets and a compatible modern carbon fork. These could be built-up period correct, or with a modern groupset (what I did). Will be particularly sad to see the Eddy Merckx go!

1. Pinarello Asolo (Pinarello Dolmen Oversized)

• Top tube 57cm CTC
  
• Seat tube 58.5cm CTC
  
• Pinarello Dolmen Oversized tubing (I believe this is rebranded Dedacciai)
  
• Chromed seat stays, chainstays and fork legs
  
• Pinarello drop-outs
  
• Takes a 1 inch threaded headset (I used the modern Campagnolo Record 1" one)
  
• 70mm threaded BB shell (so Italian standard I believe)
  
• Internal cable routing
  
• Takes modern recessed bolt caliper brakes
  
• Braze on front derailleur
  
• Clearance for 700cx25mm. However, I managed to squeeze in a 27mm at the back and used a Columbus Minimal carbon fork.
  
• 100mm fork spacing, 130mm rear spacing (modern road)
  
• Embossed Pinarello logos on fork crown, seat cluster, brake bridge, BB shell
  
• A few paint chips and the decals are peeling off - apparently a common problem with this era of Pinarello - the head badge has completely gone. No dents.

2. Columbus Minimal Fork (Full Carbon)

• Quality carbon fork from Columbus, designed for 1" steel frames
  
• 250mm of threadless steerer
  
• Clearance for at least 700cx27, but could certainly go a bit bigger
  
• Takes a modern recessed bolt caliper brake
  
• 100mm spacing (modern road) for a QR skewer
  
• Also included are the expander and Columbus branded top cap
  
• I am the original owner of this fork (purchased from Tredz) and have always tightened to the correct torque using a Park Tools wrench.
  
• Generally excellent condition. A few marks of the steerer from the stem and headset cups - I checked these with my LBS and they said the fork is good to go.
  
• I also have a compatible headset (Cane Creek 40) in good condition. Let me know if interested...

Merckx looks like mine (1992 Corsa Extra in Kelme livery). Built it recently as a MGOOF.

Jan Heine says a curved steel 1" fork is as comfy as it gets so I would keep the Pinarello original personally. Need all the help you can get on UK roads...
