From their Fleabay 2nds - sshhhh don’t want everyone to know (apparently this had wonky stitching but is as good as gold).

  • +1 for fleabay seconds; for all its many and various virtues, it's not like you buy Carradice kit for the exquisite finishing, so you might as well grab a bargain...

  • Though I doubt many readers of this thread need telling, the RSF archive volume 2 book is now up on Kickstarter; one reward is a red/black early-90s style Super C saddlebag, but with a Longflap lid. Despite having 2 Camper Longflaps already, this matches my vintage red/black Super C panniers...

  • I forgot to dig this out. You still need?

  • Hey! No thanks, I have sourced from other forum awesomes already, thanks for thinking of it nontheless. Maybe someone else here needs it? cheers

  • yeaaah lovely news that they’re doing this ... will match these

  • Yours? Mine are similar - rear panniers, so the pocket is at the side, and they've got the later version of the Super C label.

  • Yes, they've added that detail to the page - they'll be using the recycled fire hose for the mounting straps.

  • Ah, cool. Sorry for being at the other end of the awesomeness scale. Available to others if needed just let me know.

  • Saw the photo; the little tab on the back look to be leather?

  • On a regular Super C that's white leather; if you zoom in on the sample photos on the Kickstarter you can see it's textured reddish material, which is the fire hose stuff.

(IIRC the regular Super C has a black leather wear patch on the bottom, but this seems to have a double layer of cotton duck like the Camper Longflap.)

  • Hmm, may have to see if I can track down a set for red/black matchy matchy awesomeness...

  • Looks like fire hose to me, check the texture Ed.

  • Yes, that's the fire hose stuff.

  • Yes, I can confirm these are all leather free. Replaced with recycled fire hose and double cotton duck for the base. They'll come supplied with buckled straps for saddle attachment made from recycled fire hose, too.

  • Got it, turn out the photo give the illusion it’s leather! Thank for confirming on top of others.

  • Good choice on going for a longflap model, much more practical.

  • Thanks, it's one great feature in fairness... Fantastic bag!

  • is there any fundamental difference/limitation between attaching a caradice to handlebars in the trendy fashion vs say, a swift/rons/wizardworks where it's explicitly advertised as the "done thing"?

trying to find pics from either mfg's and they all look virtually the same way of attachment but i'm sure i'm missing something

  • Plenty of people do it, they just do less loud posts about it on the internet cos it didn't cost them 3 figures and doesn't require validation

  • excellent, i suppose the next question is does anyone have any pictures/ how it sits?

do i need to buy some auxiliary straps/ foam spacers

    super c audax 60#
    wizard works mini shazam 180#
