    You want weight further back for off road (relative to road) and some more room to move around.

    im talking about weight on the bars, saddle and pedals, not the wheels

  • More stack for sure. Not more reach generally. A shorter stem and wider bars.

  • I like my long and low aero road position but I'd not like to ride that off-road. My gravel bike, even with a lower stack than some road bikes is still higher, the top tube is super long with a tiny 100mm stem and the front is slack, with wider bars. Still decent in the road with the right tires, but much less of a handful than my road bike when things get bumpy.
