Good point, I tend to feel a bit weird about ‘current projects’, but I think you’re right.

No need but thanks, have found a 35mm alu stem but even that looks long. I’ll probably just use the steel ones.

Sorry I missed your post here, and that you missed out on a potential bargain. Wonder what the buyer’s maximum was.

Brake posts are in place. Had a bunch of zits added to the middle part of the front fork tube (above the DT pinion thingy) for racks/bottles. Also adding a pump peg NDS (on the ‘top tube’ so to speak) pointing at the rear end as the other stopper. Winston’s managed to remove the stuck seat posts. He’s suggested a flattened strip down the back of the seat tubes to reduce the grubs that grip it biting circles all the way up, there’s loads of them. The insertion length is tiny which is a bit of a worry, was expecting them to reach down to the brake bridge. Which may explain why they’re a bit bent.

I rode one of these about 15 years ago when I worked in a bike shop in Notting Hill. Surprisingly comfortable and luxurious riding position.
It had wooden rims and I was flying down Campden Hill Road having a great time and the tyres popped off when I cornered.

Wooden rims are just a terrible idea all round IMO
Well, there‘s this reasonably priced 195$ stem you could buy...
Anyway, it sounds like a cool and unusual project so I wouldn‘t mind a pic-heavy cp thread ;)
