• Well, turns out that the MT8 pads are (on one side) wafer thin (monsieur), and also have an odd stain in the pad material. They'd been working the best of all four callipers, which seems par for the course with Magura brakes (or at least my experience of them).

    I have some new pads coming, but currently I can't ride either bike so I can't find out if the dishwasher removed the contamination (if that was the problem) from the system(s).

    I built the bike, and I'm sure I would have centred it when I built it, but I'd need to double check that - the quality of my mechanic work does, I admit, experience a sharp drop off when it gets late and I get tired.

  • It was a little wonky, calliper bolts were not as tight as they should have been.
