Hey. Providing the hubs are the correct width for the fork, QR wheels install very similarly to nutted wheels: just slide in.
Once the wheel axle is placed into the dropouts on your fork, you tighten the QR nut to the point where it is slightly difficult to flip the QR lever closed. A good rule of thumb is that it should be hard enough leave a mild imprint on your palm for a few seconds; if you can close it with just your fingers, it’s too loose; if you have to apply a lot of force to close it, it’s too tight.

Thanks a lot - this is the answer I was hoping for! Is there a standard width for road hubs/forks?

Is there a standard width for road hubs/forks?
The standard for QR road hub spacing (which I should’ve said instead of width) is 100mm front, 130mm rear. For QR disc brake road hubs it’s 100mm front, and usually 135mm rear.

No worries. Post a pic when it’s done!
Hi guys - got a feeling this is a super silly question but can't seem to get clarification anywhere.
I have a Specialized Langster which I am riding single speed - I have just bought a Condor Pioggia fork so that I can switch from rim brake to disc brake on the front wheel. I need a wheel which is disc-friendly so have been looking on eBay/here etc for a decent priced good wheel.....I'm sort of lost between the QRs and axles?
Basically....how do I take a road front wheel and put it on my Specialized Langster where the original front wheel was held on with track nuts?
Thanking you!
