"The journalist, who has associated himself with the far-right group the Proud Boys in the past"
Ngo isn't a journalist. So much so that during the Portland BLM protests last summer Ngo kept stealing a certain independent journalists videos, so the journalist put a watermark over all of his videos that read: ANDY NGO STEALS VIDEOS. needless to say this became obvious when he posted said watermarked vids to his twitter account because Andy is lazy fascist cunt.
punch this fucker and anyone that rates him right into the fucking sun. oh and chuck tim "cuntyhat" pool in there as well.

only 51% supported the ban? Sounds like is a lot less racist than some of its neighbouring countries!
Edit: And the UK even. The last large scale opinion poll here found 59% in favour of a ban. Grim.

Only? It's morally wrong and reprehensible, especially when, as the article states, there are less than 50 women in the whole of Switzerland who wear the niqab.

I know and agree that its morally wrong and reprehensible. Was just pointing out that 51% supporting a face covering ban is quite low for Europe now days. The Swiss are probably the most relaxed about face coverings in Western Europe at the moment and they might ban the things if their government doesn't shelve the referendum result. We live in depressing times.

This is interesting. This idea is straight off of Cummings's blog in one of those absurdly lengthy posts.
(I think to a degree he's right, you aren't going to be able to make the best decisions with tight time constraints, when you're sat in a room that looks more like something out of a stately home)
But I wonder whether a) Boris is just plowing ahead with Cummings's old plans despite him no longer being in government or b) Cummings still has some input into decision making

Isn’t it all a grand pretence that we are still relevant? Our armed forces continue to shrink, our diplomacy is mocked openly by our old allies, we are making ourselves a pariah in terms of adherence to international law and we are looked into increasingly as state similar to Russia- a problem to be managed rather than the global leaders we pretend to be.

I feel smug relief at the realisation that, AFAIK, anti-Islam anti-maskers didn’t further confuse the mask debate by bringing in their pet theory about the rise of Shariah law in the West.

Who was adding up the test and trace cost?
MPs said the scheme admitted in February that it still employs about 2,500 consultants, at an estimated daily rate of about £1,100, with the best-paid consultancy staff on £6,624.
Plus
There is no evidence to show that the government’s £22bn test-and-trace programme to combat Covid-19 in England contributed to a reduction in coronavirus infection levels, parliament’s spending watchdog has concluded.
What a scandal of huge proportion.
