Get old and really slow, then you don't need any protection!

I like my race face charge knee guards for xc riding. They're more like knee warmers with abrasion protection so not for hard impacts but they are enough to save you from cuts and grazes. Cheap online and very comfy

Note to self, knee pads are essential equipment. Especially if you’re new to off road and not very good.
