I think is boredom as well as the inherent nature of CP threads. 'Look what I have' vs 'This is what I'd like to do' where in the former it's all done and settled, but the latter suggests input (wanted or not). Also there are so many options that high end shit invites speculation.

I'm guilty of it myself though. There was some bro who must have spent better part of 9k building up an OK gravel bike with the most expensive parts known to humans amd had a CP but didn't want to chat cost. That kind of behaviour invites negative commentary I think. Not that this is directly analogous just an eg.
Of course the othe issue is that the forum is mostly full of wankers.

This forum makes me laugh. I think every time I post an update to this project I get a 'yeah but X is better.' or 'Why would you do that'. Or 'You're overthinking it'.
