Very nice! I was about to insist on a Lion Bellworks dinger, but I see I was beaten to it...

I think it’s working better as a tyre and mudguard ensemble now.
I'm pleased you're pleased :)

I was about to insist on a Lion Bellworks dinger,
I'll start saving my pennies..

Ah goodness, they've gotten a little pricier than when I bought mine! Still, I suppose that was the best part of a decade ago, so on a cost per mile/year/ding, it works out reasonably...

Got an e-mail from Cory Brenn today.
My bag is en route.
I am excite!

The workmanship looks amazing on the bag.

Woof! Have long lusted after a Brenn bag; how does the cost compare to say a Berthoud one?
-
• #134
I've actually had this on order for ages - paid the deposit over a year ago, but faffed about hence the delay.
I would say it's comparable to Berthoud, maybe a bit cheaper.

In which case that's a bargain! Duly noted as a possibility...

Very nice build! Out of interest, what is the clearance for tires - typical audax with 32mm max?

Bag looks amazing!

Bag arrived, and has been mounted.
Will take better pictures when the sun shines.
Have also started saving for one for the rear.

What a lovely bike!

This.
So nice. Would definitely be a bike for life if it was mine :) -
• #143
Superb bike, well done on a great build.

This was a deeply satisfying morning coffee thread. Loving your work!

Looking great! Any particular reason why you don't want to lower your straddle cables? It should make for a greater mechanical advantage. And you could also cut the ends, while you're at it ;) I'm also curious whether there is an advantage to the unusual pedal strap routing. Is it comfier or easier to get out of?
-
• #146
Straddle Cables have been lowered, and the cable ends cut.
Not sure what's unusual about the pedal strap routing, do you mean the twist?
-
• #147
I usually did it like this.
Btw: I'm a big fan of the sensible gearing with the triple and the small casette. Kudos for going against the mainstream :) -

Gorgeous!

How are the CL pedals?

The twist is a fairly traditional 'Old School' way of fitting straps.
Keeps them more securely in place. I think it suits the overall look of the bike.
I think it’s working better as a tyre and mudguard ensemble now.
