Cheers for that - I’ll build it in a way that means it can be adjusted if necessary.

Reallynice sized garden that, fun space to play with.
Have you shared plans and I have just missed them? -
• #44254
It's as wide as out last garden was long.
Plans? Nooooo. Talking random bollocks about what I might do? Yes, strewn about the thread.
But, up to the pile or thereabouts, lawn. Not bowling green but something to make it nicer for mini_com to play out. To the right of the path/in the border, wild flowers and bulbs. Past the pile/big laurel bush, take down the immature sycamore, clear all rubbish, leave semi-wild (for fauna and seasonal blackberry picking) clear space for shed/workshop. Fortify fence along the brook so mini_com doesn't go for a dive.

There's no mention in the advert of the areas I highlighted so I think this may be attracting people who aren't aware of the location so I've suggested the listing include this detail.
It's somewhat a blessing and a curse as you can't get a skip to the house for renovations, delivery drivers can't find your house, IKEA get very irate when delivering anything bigger than a spice rack, shopping has to be lugged from car to house however I'd guess it's probably the quietest location so close to the centre of town.

This sounds correct.
Yeah think my garden is as long as yours is wide.

Is it a COVID thing to have to chase estate agents up to arrange a viewing of a house now? Rang them Saturday morning to try and arrange a viewing and left my details with a member of staff, since then nada.

I was phoned up earlier by an insurance broker who got my details from my mortgage broker. My mortgage broker did not mention this to me. I am mildly annoyed and also wondering how to tell them to go away, politely, tomorrow when they phone back (earlier I said I was in the middle of work and could they call me tomorrow.)
I didn't like much about the interaction - especially the 'I just need to confirm your details as part of our security procedure' on an unsolicited call. The company seem legit enough, but I'm just not interested and I kinda hate that shit. -

Any recommendations for retractable washing lines (or other similar things for outdoor clothes drying). Rotary one and this type have been vetoed.

That boils my piss. They would have strong advice to 'do one' from me at that stage.

I refuse. If it is important they will find another way to contact me.

I'm not much interested in unsolicited phonecalls. I'll let you know if I'm interested. Please take me off all your marketing lists. Thanks
I'm always tempted by the 2nd option of asking them how I should be able to verify who they are and then why I might not be happy to jump through hoops providing security details to a random on a phone. But then I figure I've got other things to waste my time on and go with option 1

I complained to Virgin (the Executive office complaints or whatever rather than just their bog standard complaints) about them doing this. They contacted me from a random mobile number to discuss it but wanting me to confirm my details first.
Unsure if it was shithousery or incompetence.

Not interested but have asked them to call you back...

Very british problems.

I think that's the most likely thing. Does it sag at all when it's extended with washing on it?

I was thinking this but not thinking fast enough while on an unexpected phonecall. It just felt dodgy, and this is how scammers get people, isn't it - lean on their politeness.

I wanted to tell them to go away there and then, but I wasn't 100% sure if I should somehow be entertaining them as part of this remortgaging process, I was 99% sure but I was also in the middle of work and wasn't really expecting the call, so just told them I was busy and could they call back. Having then engaged brain a fraction more I can't see how it can possibly be related to remortgaging process.

You can pull it pretty taught and it doesn't slip. I actually use a prop in the middle because it raises the line higher and gets the clothes, drier quicker but that's by no means essential.

About to go into a meeting? On deadline? I use the latter a lot when people call me at work, often because I am.

I wouldn't like that either. If I get that, I say "Well, how do I know you're who you say you are? Tell me your name and I'll get the number off the legit website and call you."
Then I don't call back, obvs.

I have one of those Brabantia Wall Fix airers. It's fucking magic. Yet to put it up at the new place, but will do as soon as the exterior work is done.

we have a small leak from the flat roof.
in the top bedroom, underneath the roof terrace we noticed when we moved in past signs of there being drip running down the wall from the edge of the ceiling, looking at the terrace above we notice a split in the waterproofing at roughly the same depth as the drip,
should i do more investigation and cut out a bit of the ceiling? or am i ok to try just taping up the split in the waterproofing (the damp patches on the wall are me attempting to clean up the mess, the only water getting in is the drip lines) and seeing if that solves the problem before getting the waterproofing redone?

Picked up the shredder today. There's a definite knack to it to get it to run without clogging or scaring the shit out of you. But I was able to put all the Holly cuttings into 2/3 of a garden waste wheelie bin. It would have taken 3 or 4 car loads had it not been shredded.

Totally agree with this, this would be a selling point to me too.
Is the problem @scotts that your agent isn't selling it right, or isn't getting it in front of the right buyers? You only need to find one person who feels the same way as you and who really likes it...
