• Will do - since there doesn't seem to be intel on these on the forum I might just bite the bullet. Not that worried about potentially wasting £13, but I'd rather not buy something that is garbage and will end up being waste, but the reviews do seem good and I'm not expecting great sound quality, just enough to hum along a tune on a country lane or listen to a podcast while doing laps and the like so I'm quietly optimistic... 🤞

  • The bone conductor headphones just arrived this morning. I'm actually fairly impressed for the money to be honest. Sound is ok if a bit dark, but actually better than I was expecting (though I had low expectations...!). It does bleed at louder levels, but not an issue in the context of wearing them on a ride.

Went with the ones below as they have volume controls that also allow to skip songs which will be handy though the buttons area is the bit that feels the weakest and most plasticky. It doesn't look or feel like they'd actually be that moisture resistant to be honest (they are meant to be IPX4). If you don't feel strongly about having direct controls it might be worth going for the simpler one button model from the same shop (you skip by clicking like 3 or 4 times in a row on those) as I feel it might well prove a bit more durable over time/sweat/drizzle.

Will report again once I've worn them on the bike, will be interesting to see how easy it is to strike a balance being able to hear around you and hearing the songs/podcasts once there is some traffic or wind.
