  • Hey hey,

So having built what might be the lightest S-Works Allez in the world (maybe) and ridden it once I'm now offering it for sale (trying to buy a house at the moment and extra cash is more use than sick HH whip sadly)...

Rims - Farsport 38mm carbon tubular
    Tyres - Vittoria Corsa gumwall
    Hubs - Novatec

    Handlebars - Hylix CF - £35
    Crankset - S-Works FACT - £90
    Chainrings - Fibre-Lyte CF 52/36 - £220
    Chain - SRAM Red 22 11sp - £20

Cables - Nokon for brakes and Sram for gearing (incl. with frame I guess?)

Skewers - Zipp Ti - SOLD
Seatpost - Hylix CF - SOLD
Seat - Tune Komm Vor - SOLD
Brakes - TRP R960 w/ SwissStop Flash Evo Pro Black Prince pads - SOLD

I think I've covered everything there and the really sick bit is that it's only 6.41kg.
There's some more photos in the build thread.

  • duh. beautiful.
registering interest/dibs on skewers and cages

  • Nice! Registering interest on Derailleurs/ Brifters and cassette

  • Wow, lovely! Would be interested in the brake calipers if you do decide to split

  • That was fairly quick! If we can get a taker for the frame it might be part out time :(

  • let us know prices, i might be up to know about wheelset

  • I'll ruminate on prices this evening for a part out and put them up!

  • Might go the frame. T-t 54?

  • Is the chainset/BB standard bsa or some oversized bollox? #luddite

  • Almost certain it's BB30?

Re: frame and fork I have a mate who's not online here who had asked me for first refusal and I think he might take it so as soon as I hear from him I'll update individual pricing.

(Poor form to sell off forum I appreciate but he had been on to me about the frame before and I'd posted the add for a complete bike before he replied to me...)

  • Sad news :(

Maybe would have ridden it more if you ran clinchers? :P

  • You know what, I definitely would have, lol!

Just been outbid on that house though so the rush to sell is reduced...

  • Should put on some clinchers and sprint everywhere!

  • I'm bloody torn on it now...

I don't know whether to just sell it all, sell the frame and replace with a stripped non-S-Works Allez or keep the bloody thing and buy clinchers * exasperated crying emoji *

It was a great house too :(

  • Give Tubs A Chance!

  • I think I need to just get over the massive faff of changing them (probably not such a massive faff after a few efforts)...

  • Agreed, going through the same process myself - trying to get comfortable with changing them myself if I get caught out miles from home - I’ve had moderate success with Joe’s No Flat tubular sealant but I’d like to be confident enough to carry a pre-glued spare and make the change roadside.

Having said that, there’s no way I’d use tubs for a multi day ride - too much hassle.

  • What is the difference between an s works Allez frame, I think just the forks?

  • paintjobs too, i believe it made a differencve in weight as well

  • Forks and paint job. The S-Works is anodised and the fork is the full carbon FACT fork, same as the Tarmac of the same vintage I think...

So given that we've been priced out of the bidding on that particular house I think I'm going to hang on to this for now and have a think about whether or not I really do want to sell it...

If the price was right I'd consider selling the frame and fork and replacing it with a Specialized Allez Smartweld frame (same frame but non-S-Works) but I'm not going to do anything hasty for the moment. Apologies for those interested in bling weenie parts :(

If anyone has a frame they'd be interested in swapping + cash I'd certainly have a think about it too...

  • Good decision I think, definitely deserves to be ridden as built!

  • ... with some clinchers ;)

  • damn. let me know about tubs though if applicable

  • Just saw your comment an hour ago and dropped you a PM :)

  • I'm woefully indecisive and still considering selling this. Seems silly to have it gathering dust when I'm not riding it and don't foresee myself getting around to it anytime soon with other commitments.

I've included the partout prices above and I'll part it out if I can get takers for c.50% of the bits (by value)...
