some of the dumb shit I've dealt with in this house - first couple months of moving in - my CH system went to piss with leaking TRVs, leak from soldered fitting

Today's toys out of the pram moment was investigating the recently kaput bathroom light to find the smashed fitting inside the glass shade, the FIVE INCH SCREWS holding the fitting to the ceiling screwed straight into the ceiling plaster and the two wires connecting the fitting to the circuit both being green and yellow.
Pulled the guts out of the fitting (as we wanted to keep that) and replaced with the guts of a new pendant fitting. Re-attached it properly to the ceiling and put an appropriate bulb in.
