Most bizarre crash of 2021 today in GP Monseré, a rider fell and got his hand caught in another rider's back wheel, causing him to get dragged along with that rider's bike for 5 or 6 meters 😬

Cav finished 2nd, and another great day for Alpecin-Fenix because Tim Merlier outsprinted everyone.

Yes very strange. Looked painful, for both his hand and being dragged 20 metres on his arse. DHB Canyon were involved in a lot of crashes.

Cav’s lead out man was stalled by a B&B guy dropping back. Really unfortunate. The B&B guy got a mouthful at the end. If he’d peeled off to the side I think Cav could have won that. Gutted.

Urgh, that sounds horrific. Hope it's repairable.

The damage wasn’t as bad as it sounds or could have been. He tried to get back on his bike and ride, but I’m not sure he did. Lots of hand waving. Probably badly bruised or a broken bone but nothing missing.

1000 watts for 20sec is nuts at the best of times, even more so after nearly 5 hours of hard racing. His recovery is outrageous.

Some of us don't use Strava either....
