I like that a lot

Not sure if allowed to, but if any of you are looking for some 7x3 deore lx shifters for your next build I have just posted some here for sale https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/360794/

First Ti Bolt I've seen for sale in a decade. Absurd Ebay price but might never see another.
Thinking about selling every other bike I have to get this.

Anyone on here fancy this one I’ve just put on the general sale section? A 90’s Marin Bear Valley.

Fuck me, that's perfect. Even down to the X-lite bar ends and Smoke/Dart tyre combo.

The original steel Thunderbolt was one of the most beautiful mountainbikes I’d ever seen back then. Slim and elegant with that massively sloping top tube, I only ever saw one in MBA magazine but I wanted one so badly.

Finished this one yesterday, as some of you may have seen on the build thread.

Just came across this site on reddit, there's some nice builds on it. My 2 muddyfoxes will probably end up looking similar to some of them. -

Very cool, I had a Hahanna the same year as yours when they first came out... moved onto a Cindercone a few years later when they went for the two tone paint jobs... your frame looks in great nick
-
• #2843
Thanks! Yeah I bought the frame off someone here and couldn't believe the condition, absolutely pristine for something nudging on 30 years!

• #2844
I like the way you’ve modernised it without making it look shit... very understated without going for full on anodised everything

This on ebay atm. Prob'ly worth it for the Amp Research forks alone

Shameless cross post from the current projects thread. Rear mudguard needs sorting and probably a few other bits but rides great.

Class, I like that a lot. Did you zip tie the basket on that rack?
-
• #2848
Cheers, yeah its a Specialized Pizza Rack with a Wald 139 basket zip tied on 👍
-
• #2849
Top ghetto fix points! Side thought, Wald should replace their nonsensical model numbers with 12, 18, 24, etc... according to the number of tinnies you can fit in a single layer.

Where do people get all those bullmoose bars?
Does anyone here wish to register an interest in my very nice Shimano 3x9 drivetrain?
Crankset is Deore LX HT2 44-32-22, cassette 11–28, shifters LX, front mech XT top pull, rear mech XT Shadow (M772). All in great shape — shift levers and both mechs are nearly new. The set would be ideal for replacing worn-out componentry on a classic steel MTB.
Pix privately to PMs before I put it up on the 'for sale' thread.
