Project RCM, I'm on the third warranty. My latest mix of cleaner is 40% alcohol, 60% water, about 16 drops of Tergitol, 8 drops of X-Flo (or whatever it's called!!)
I just cleaned the 7 inch collection from my Grans house via my Mum, about 80 disks. It's taken me 2 years to do it. They were filthy.
You don't get new records but they are clean enough. Problem is you then need to keep them away from the rotting paper covers so you need japanese style 7" anti static inner sleeves and while you're there you may as well enter them into discogs, create a label and stick it to a brand new sealable poly outer.
Only then will you know how far gone I am :) I'm happy though.

I've found the Tergitol on ebay (just bought a bundle with the 15-S-3 and 15-S-9 ).
However cannot find that X-flo product anywhere.
My previous mix was based on Ilfotol I believe (ebay sourced again).
Shall I get another wetting agent or is that Tergitol stuff enough by itself?
The seller recommends a couple of drops from each solution added into alcohol and distilled water. -

Sorry me and my record cleaning again... May I ask what qty of solution you're making with so much Tergitol at once ? Is that for 2 litres perhaps?
The seller I bought from recommends 2 drops for 500ml solution (400ml distilled water + 100ml rubbing alcohol).
@>>>>>> some of my vinyl that I have put in plastic outer sleeves have mould on the cardboard sleeves.
@Airhead - how are you cleaning your collection?
