  • Just found out about nitto m151...
Added to the list of near identical nitto products.
    M151f
    M106nas
    M109aa

  • I use the M151F on all my bikes now, by far the best compact bar I’ve tried. The 42cm measure up the same width as the 44cm Noodles that I was using. Highly recommended.

  • Found these budget ones on aliexpress

  • M151f are the only silver compacts with an old-fashioned sleeve on the clamping area, like 80s Cinelli etc, and therefore the ultimate neo retro bar!

Piegas are lighter though : )

  • Do you still have these?

  • Are the decathlon bars measured C-C or from the outside?

  • They are centre to centre

  • Great, thanks

  • Just got a set (38cm), they’re nice bars with a small drop and a bargain for £12. Needed shimming to fit my pro chrome stem though.

  • Just bought a set. Came to £15 with delivery, but I have a spare 25.4mm stem lying around so much cheaper than buying a new 26mm stem and handlebar (as all compact handlebars apart from decathlon's seem to be 26). Wonder if it's possible to sand off the anodised black in the centre to make it match with my silver stem. I've heard oven-cleaner might work as well. Is this a bad idea without dental insurance?

  • Hi everyone, has anyone paired a Deda Piega with a Cinelli 1A stem?

I have and had to really overtighten the stem bolt to get it to hold tight and not spin. Tried adding some of that gritty carbon paste and that made it worse!

Previously had some old cinelli campione del mondo handlebars in the stem and they were fine if a bit creaky sometimes.

  • The old Cinelli 1A has a weird clamp size (26.4mm?). The new Cinelli 1A is 26.0mm, so probably best to pair that with Piegas.

  • Ah that could explain it. Nothing's simple! :)

  • You could probably shim it with a coke can or something

  • @mind_maze worked a treat, thanks

  • How long did delivery take on your order? Getting an estimated 1st of April for a set of bars

  • If you have an older 1A then take the clamp bolt out and cut about 3mm off the nut side and it should help to close the clamp to grip the 26mm bars better. I wouldn't do it with a 25.4mm bar though as 1.6mm is a bit too much

  • Bought on the 7th, dispatched on the 12th to Asda for click and collect on the 13th. Original estimated delivery date was the 18th

  • No denying this would work, but shimming is a safer approach than cutting down the bolt to allow the clamp to be overtightened tbh.

  • Thanks for the tip. I now have two pairs on the way and will report back when they come in.

  • These arrived yesterday (16 days to Canada, not bad) and so far they seem pretty good. The finish of the polished part is nice and is the same as that of the silver Uno stem, if you've ever had one of those. It does dip a little towards the hoods but it's still well within the realm of modern compact drops. The indicated dimensions are 120 mm drop and 75 mm reach.

It's marked HB-CR21. Here's a comparison with an HB-CR22, which has a flatter transition to the hoods and 5 mm less reach.

  • Anyone know where I can source Nitto M186's other than planetx (who only have 42cm)?

I'll also be selling my 42cm pair in case anyone is interested...

    I'm after 38's

  • Is there anything 26 / 25.4mm clamp, short reach, shallow drop and some flare?
Basically your typical gravel bars but in classy silver?

  • I've bought the same handlebar for my bike and also new stem, but I can't get through at one point on the bar no matter in which angle, do you have any tips how did you get through your handlebar on the stem?

  • Unscrew the clamp bolt, insert a penny in the slot, and carefully tighten the bolt against the penny. This will increase the diameter and simplify the installation. You'll most likely have to put the bolt in backwards, from the other side. Found this tip on another bike forum, and just did it over the weekend successfuly. There was a point where I thought it would be imposible, before trying this trick.

Others suggest filing down edges of the stem's clamping area to make them more round (because the edge is the the only that catches when installing, but the middle part of the clamping area is the one that actually holds the bar in place).
