Front mech hanger snapped after 1 ride..

So my supersix front mech hanger corroded and snapped, it’s old, that’s fine. Had it replaced by LBS and I went to take it out of the shed today and it had sheared in line with the slot the neck boots onto.. is this just bad luck? Mech over tightened? Any other ideas? It’s really fustrating!

If the mech was so corroded it snapped what makes you think the hanger is in any better state. Or maybe got damaged when it snapped.
Never seen anyone snapping a hanger just torquing it, and I work with plenty of ham fisted people.

You should go back to the LBS anyways, they'll most likely warranty it anyways

This is the second (new) hanger. Mech was fine, the first time the hanger cracked around the rivets.
