I've got this gran compe rip off of a Brooks swallow, which I've bought "on here" from @finepics over 10 years ago! The white "paint" (?) isn't looking very good anymore, but the leather under it is healthy, so is the saddle in general. I'd like to get rid of the paint, treat the leather and have it as a natural leather colored saddle. Any clue how to remove the paint without damaging the leather?

Very fine sandpaper used carefully and hours of fun.

Ride it more?

Naked, after you have gorilla glued sand to your arse and perineum.

In the style of Tony Martin?

Sadly I hardly ride bikes anymore, not an option....

It's kinda weird when I think something then scroll down and you've already written it.

Isn’t that a sign it’s time to delete your account?
Isn’t it in the rules that posting “I agree with DJ” is code for “nuke me now!”?

Are chainrings in any other colour than black or silver always anti?
Are wheel rims in any colour other than black or silver always anti?
Are tyres in any other colour than black or gum wall always anti?
Are coloured rims and matching colour tyres doubling down on anti and beyond unacceptable?
Would you be damned to hell for all eternity for attempting all the above on one bike?
Asking for a friend obviously.
I've always thought "don't do it!" with my bikes, and off the top my head can't think if any builds that have managed it, it just seems to attract sharp intakes of breath and vom on shoes.
Anyone got any examples/pics where it doesn't look shit?

Yes.
Apart from open pave tyres with the green stripe

Cross and arguably gravel are less strict. The green Michelin tyres are also cool
-
• #107215
Naw, on the right bike creme tires are okay too.

• #107216
I think silver is pushing it.

• #107217
Yeah good shout on the Open Pave's, though matching green is a total nightmare as I found trying and failing to find tape the same shade as a similar shaded green Flite.

Ha! Harsh. But silvery bike bits look better in the sun, fact!

Or the sea.

You sun deprived northern folk can literally double your daily vit D intake if you stand next to some shiny Campag on a sunny day.

Nowt shiny round here lad.

In some limited circumstances you might get away with gold anodised (e.g. Mavic OR10). Dark grey hard anodising is obviously fine. I'm not entirely opposed to white paint on MTB rims.

Aren't you in Manchester? If so then I appreciate the sun may be such a rare sight it renders shiny pointless in my example above.
Dirty shiny bits do guilt trip me more into cleaning and retaining shiny though, which is more hassle. Dirty chrome just gnaws away at me.

Agreed MTB gets more of a pass with colours all over the place, same as BMX. The thought of white rims on a road bike though, hmm....and I say that as someone with a bike with white hubs :)
And when you said gold rims I thought that would be considered a one way ticket to anti, but I looked up those Mavic's you mentioned and I can see those working with some builds. Agree dark grey can get a pass too.

It would be good to have some build examples, but searching them out seems hard, and I'm too scared to do a google image search for red rims.
