How vintage? In the mid to late nineties there were longer seatposts. Eighties is much more difficult to find anything longer than 250 mm...

Yip, indeed. I had a Ritchey mtb post on my road bike for that reason, mid nineties.

The S65 is lovely.

70s/80s, something that would be in keeping with a Campag aero post. Selcof did a copy I think which may be longer than 220? Something that would be match up with Cinelli 1A and Criterium bars.
As Señor_Bear says, the Nitto S65 is lovely, although I have a Nitto S65 with Nitto Stem/Bars on another bike; so would like to consider alternatives before going down this route.

Campag euclid? Non aero, basically a 30+cm 80s super record post. Looks good with classic kit.

I like the black and silverness of it, should transition well into the grey bar/stem combo.

That tool-to-part interface looks pleasing.

Didn't know a black arabesque existed. Only know of the black DA.

First I've heard of Bitul. Good impressions so far?

They feel pretty solid. I've not done anything with them TBF.

me neither until I saw it - I had a couple of the silver ones that came as standard on some Gazelle CM's but never managed to get the right spanner from the LBS so ended up using a bit of towel and an adjustable spanner... funtimes...

Yes, many arabesque top nuts have been mutulated in the past by the incorrect wrenches. I'm also the happy owner of a pair of these babies. Never got to use them though, I wonder how long they last since they're made of bloody aluminium. I guess the shape of the nuts spreads the pressure somewhat evenly over the alu vs alu. Maybe I should start servicing my arabesque headsets to find out.

Mmmm. Dura Ace tools.
Are there any vintage seat posts that are longer than 220? Love my Campag aero seat post but it’s too short. Before I purchase a Nitto S65 is there anything vintage I should be considering?
