• Unfortunately, I have neither the time nor space to complete this build so it's time I moved it on.

The frame is a quite rare Schwinn Peloton from 1999 built with Reynolds 853 tubing. It shares the same geometry as the Serotta designed Schwinn Paramount and is a real pleasure to ride. Fast, supple steel at it's finest.

Cosmetically it's a little rough around the edges; the paintwork has chips and scratches that have been touched up over the years. But structurally, it's in great shape. I stripped it most of the worn components and added a fresh Campy 11 speed group, some nearly new Campy wheels, a Thomson stem, Zipp bars and some slick GravelKings. Apart from that I haven't really touched it - a tragedy I know. I was planning on adding a matching Athena chainset at some point and maybe replacing the carbon fork with a Columbus Minimal or maybe the straight blade chrome forks from Condor, but this year has just been too hectic. Needs a chain, cables, bartape and some adjustment - but that's all.

Either way, whoever does the finishing touches on this will be rewarded with a very lovely ride indeed!

    Price & Location

This is a super steel road bike with some very nice components, so I'd really like to see this go for £485. I'm no way near breaking even here, but I'm about to move house and will very soon be in the dreaded '1 bike only' situation. So let my loss be your gain!

If there's no interest in the bike as it is, I will split. But buyers of the complete bike will take priority at first. I'll update the thread with split prices in a week or so if there's no takers.

    £485

    Collection only from Oxford (OX11)
