assume that journo is sourcing those tidbits from a DSM insider - bit snidey circumventing their NDA by briefing against him anonymously

TBH, if some staff member in pro cycling has a conscience (assuming they think he's been up to no good), I think that's a good thing

Wouldn't that conscience be better served by them informing the proper authorities to investigate, rather than anonymously briefing a journalist with gossip?

I guess its impossible to know what's gone on behind the scenes but ideally, yes.
