Bit spendy for a GPX track
Had the same thought. I don't doubt his hard work sorting the but that's a bit much given I'm sure the planning and test riding was a lot of fun for him.

Is sore knees a prize?

I know its 2 months away and things change, but worth bearing in mind Spain currently has a nighttime curfew (around 10-6am, regions can vary by 1hr but not more). And regions like Andalusia currently have a ‘perimeter ’ which means you cannot enter without good reason.
I am sure they will be loosened in time, but when is up for debate

I wonder what AB's plan is if the regions the route passes through haven't lifted restrictions by end of March, when entries close? Might be worth a message to him.

This is on the website:
Registration policies and Covid-19
We at Transbike Adventures would like to share our thoughts to issue a
statement and implement measures regarding the situation we are all
experiencing due to world pandemic of Covid19.2020 has been a challenging year, pandemic protocols and travel
restrictions have varied from place to place, from country to country.
All of us are most likely being affected by what’s happening globally. In March 2020 we reacted to intense pandemic situation and changed our
registration policies, to make sure you could register with
confidence, despite uncertainty around travel and event logistics.Things you need to know about 2021:
We are accepting registrations for all Transbike Adventures 2021
events! Once made, your payment with us will be non refundable. For
that reason, we highly recommend that you purchase " CANCEL FOR ANY
REASON " trip cancellation insurance - from any insurance company of
your choice. Usually this type of insurance must be purchased between
10 and 20 days from the time your payment for the trip is made.Transfer your registration:
> Things are changing fast. If you are unable to attend an event, we
give opportunity (without additional cost) to transfer registration to
another event in the same or following year.I can't see myself flying there in May from the other side of Europe, but for people closer to it, maybe.

Riding with lights off every night for the length of Spain doesn't sound like the greatest of plans.

I think BikingMan Corsica had this in Oct - half way through curfew started; so it turned from a race into a training camp...
-
• #4385
Why are they not offering refunds if you can't get there due to a global pandemic.

Speaking of buying a new bike. Would it be madness to do Badlands on my Strael with 35/36mm at the front and 32/33mm at the back?
-
• #4390
Yes
-
• #4391
As I've said before, I could finish it riding a Shiv - doesn't mean it'll be fun, fast, sensible or safe.

I think this is probably the best place to ask... I want to get a tracker (peace of mind for loved ones etc) for multi-day rides where phone signal is patchy or non existent. Not sure I need to worry about actual two-way comms so is the Spot still the right balance between price and functions or is there something a bit better out there?
-
• #4396
Do you want to be tracked, or just be able to summon help if it all goes horribly wrong?
-
• #4397
If I was buy another one I'd get the 2-way comms thing from Garmin InReach or whatever it is.
Having a tracker is pretty useless for loved ones as they just panic when the dot stops and if you do need help you can't summon it.
-
• #4398
I've also killed every tracker I've been given and haven't yet tried InReach so as of this point in time, I can't complain about them failing :)

There's some good chat on this podcast I think about them
