Frequent busses in to Chippenham from corsham if that helps. Other option is Bath - bit further down the line but still <90 mins by train in to London. It’s pricey in parts but still lots cheaper than London, easy to access the stations via public transport/bike, plenty to do and obviously an aggressively beautiful place to live. We’re very happy here atm - only reason we’re looking to move is to have some land.

Thanks Kimchi and @umop3pisdn for the insight. Did a quick streetview of the town centre and the buildings looked nice but it did seem a little tired. Maybe one to visit when we can travel again...
All the things I’d read mentioned the villages nearby. Think it may be a no-go as station access will be key, OH doesn’t drive at the moment.
