Yeah I do feel sorry for folk that have bought shoes they genuinely love, worn them sparingly then stored them & the midsole crumbles - I remember that Adidas short with Ian Brown where they went to a dusty sports shop in Argentina that was a 70's time warp & half of the shoes had disintegrated, loads of mythical shoes people had never seen before - dust.
@Señor_Bear - totally, the manufacturers don't give a shit as the hype is worth far more than the profit from making a 200 pair release into a 20000 pair release, as long as there's a market for it at consumer level it'll keep happening, and people are happy to pay £20-£30 more from a reseller so the big resellers buy in the hundreds & work the economies of scale even on the bigger "sought after" releases...
And as some of us know only too well, leave them in a box for too long and you can't wear them anyway... A lot of shoes have a wear by date, all my Jordan III, IV and Vs have gone in the bin in the last two years, all fucked... AJ1s don't have that problem tho'!
It was nuts fifteen years ago but absolutely fucking crazy now... Before that it was easy, just go up to Sports & Things in Streatham and pick up whatever you want... Or get friendly with the manager at Foot Locker and find out when something was dropping...
