  • Hit the first ramp hard enough and land it past the roots :)

  • Not til I get the suspension serviced!

  • That's wise. I guess if it dries out a bit there's more grip on the roots but it hurts more if you fall off.

  • Might give it a try tomorrow. Worst I can do is hurt myself and damage the bike, right? <cue fireballs>

Will take a few photos from the other angles. It is a great spot for a play.

  • I guess I would need a very light bike to get involved in that kind of behaviour, cue searching for 2 stroke off roaders. :)

I'd like to leave my street for more than an hour a day though. Right now that muddy hill looks very inviting.

  • DR350SE has the Acerbis 12L tank and the luggage rack fitted. It’s not light by any means. And yet, plans for tomorrow have begun.

  • You’ll be fine up that, pick a gear, stand up and keep going. Those roots won’t be any bother.

  • My mate on a steep hill, earlier....(and my lovely RM that I totally shouldn’t have sold)

  • I remember going down thinking ‘oh shit, he’s not going to like this’ - took several attempts for me to even climb back up to help as I kept slipping. Hohoho.

  • His gear looks quite light weight. Are you off-roaders all not normally armoured with shin pads, chest protectors etc.?

  • Nah they carry guns and just shoot the ground if it tries to hit them.

In all seriousness, everyone makes their own choices on kit. I paid out and have the soft and hard armour.

Recently I’ve opted for comfort, so I wear the Acerbis X-Air or whatever it’s called, and soft knee pads strapped directly to me, as well as the AS Corozal adv boots.

Some guys still go over jumps in trainers, each to their own.

  • Show-off! Looks like real offroad territory there.

Yea I know this will be one of those “I can’t believe I struggled on *this*” when I look back. Gotta suss out pinning it up loose climbs, so I can work on loose and relaxed downhills too.

  • Yea, nah.

Got almost halfway! Maybe another day.

Served me right for filling up a full tank too.

I got stuck on the roots, wheel was spinning no matter what. Got off. Took the photo, tried pumping and rocking the bike while to the side. Still no good. Fell over.

    Took longer getting down again!

  • Ah no, good effort though! Stubby enduro levers could be a thing? (bike still looks great)

  • How are you going to choose which one to ride? Well done picking up the GSXR though, it's bound to be worth having. I think the thread still wants a video with the engine running though.

  • Your wish is my command, seems silky smooth compared to the RSV which will take some getting used to. Also moving it around in the garage it feels a lot lighter which is surprising.

  • Sweet. I'm so used to big twins I find the big 4 cylinders hard to ride, not enough torque low down and I have a tendency to stall them. It does seem weird that the 2 bikes would feel that different.

  • I have a tendency to stall them

I can see that happening. Although neither will be going green laning, I like to think they're different enough to justify being in the garage.

  • Sweeeet! Loud pipe and power commander immediately. Wait for dry roads obvs, but I remember them really waking up around 7.5k.

  • Wait for dry roads obvs

Thought you might approve. Would love to tax and insure it but funds are low, also the tyres are from 2006 ಠ_ಠ. Fairings will be coming off tonight and I'll be cleaning it up with WD40 so that's enough excitement for now.

  • So you're going to do us a burnout video before you replace them? :)

  • I think a burnout on my 'gixxer' is a sure way to leave a good impression with the neighbours. Good call!
