43mm GravelKing Semi Slicks arrived this morning and I got an inaugural ride in this afternoon, getting in some chunky bridalway, and some muddy but dry-ish singletrack as well as backlanes and some smooth tarmac too.

Super impressed with the tyres, just a tiny bit annoyed with Squid only saying it has clearance for 42’s. I thought I was pushing it with 43’s but in reality there’s still loads of space front and rear.

Would have been worse if they over promised on the clearance.

Yeah, fair point. Still, enjoying the 43’s very much and I’ll know I can get away with wider when it’s time to replace.

I just pulled the trigger on a Brother Allday from Seabass. Won't be long until I can officially be a member of this thread. 🤩

Watch for pedal strike.

I’d expect it even on a track frame and short cranks when using those pedals.

yeah, I expected this too, but so far it was less of an issue than I previously thought. It feels like a big BMX now

White shoes off road is so baller

fixed gear off road with white road shoes in winter. Strong.

With semi-slick tyres too.

And road pedals/cleats.

Yep. Brother officially states 35c on their specs but they had a blog post with one they fitted 38s on so I went for it. Might have to go down to 35 if I want to fit mudguards for commute duties.
