• Thanks :) it's got painted white main tubes rather than the usual anodised(?) colour. It's badged as an Andre Bertin which was a French bike shop/manufacturer, I think a fairly common practice back in the day. I have another white Vitus 979 in size 52 (new one is a 56, I grew out of the smaller one lol) which is badged as a Benotto.
    Here's the old one, from which almost all the parts are being swapped over:

    I think the white 979s were electrophoretically-coated (or similar process) rather than sprayed... Could be wrong.

    I've got a purple ano 58cm 979 in single-speed mode that hasn't been ridden in ages; might stick a stupid 1x drivetrain and wide riser bars on it for the summer:
