No idea, though I’ve seen them too.

Could be. Nice one, that’s some serious geekery.
I’ll have a look tomorrow.

Indeed, Someone has taken a lot of time to put that chart together.

Gillott roundel coming along well, going to clean it up a little, also it seems my original transfer is not round (!) so I might adjust it, if it doesn’t make too much extra work for my tame grapho mate

I’ve made the whole set, the fork one is almost perfect but I need to tweak the spacing on the DT one a little.
Still they’re better than any I could buy imho.

Urgh. They look really good. Lucky I just bought a set of the less good ones 🙄
N.B. the crescent moon Robergel Sport spokes should be a good bet for vintage spokes. Write-up here https://midlifecycling.blogspot.com/2016/03/when-you-spoke-of-good-wheels-there-was.html?m=1
I’ve got them in my Harden wheels, they clean up with Autosol but nothing further to report yet. -

Have you had them fitted yet (fitted sounds wrong for little stickers but ykwim)?
Where did you get them?I think my transfers are still going to take a few weeks, my mate is working crazy hours atm so I’m having to be patient.
Also I need to check with Lloyds how much glitch/wavy line their printer will cope with, then work out colours etc. -
• #212
Yeah. I checked my Harden/Asp wheels are built with Robergel Sports 17/15 spokes.
🤓😎 -

No not fitted yet, think there’s probably a few weeks till Argos are ready. As far as I know it’s still waiting for a slot for painting. I’ll keep an eye on your progress 🙂
Coincidentally I’m in the middle of my own Gillott craft project. I went into it thinking it would be easy but it’s another major pita.

I guess I’ll have to ‘brighten up’ my head badge too, I might just use some felt tips.

It’s hard getting the paint off the raised letters without chuffing up the rest of it. I’m hoping that after it dries and a polish it‘ll look ok. That evens out the finish a bit.
-
• #216
Maybe let it cure for as long as you can then remove what you don’t want with sandpaper- go through the grades to super fine wet and dry trying not to remove too much of the aluminium.

I think this will be ok. It’s my second serious go at it. It’s air brushed and then the letters brushed with a cocktail stick dipped in thinners. The metal polish knocks back the waves of paint a bit. I’ll post another pic when it’s done. I’ve found it hard to take off the paint from a curved badge. You’d think you could scrape it but it drags through the fill.

Took this out for a spin on Saturday, it's got boring old Lloyds transfers but it did 60 miles around the Kent downs, which included Ide Hill.

Lovely bike.
Ide hill is a good climb.
I’m guessing the tea shop is closed atm though.
🙁
I used to do a loop of Toys, IDE and Star hills, when I was younger and thinner. -

Correction, on that gearing it’s a bloody good climb.

I have just shellacked the handlebar tape. Three coats, messy job but I like the effect.
I don't like the tyres much, a little bit pedestrian for my taste. I did try some old Michelin tyres on the constricor rims but when you pumped up the tyres, they would literally force themselves of the rim. So they were abandoned for these. -
• #225
I’ve heard the Constrictor rims are tricky.
Have you tried Paselas?
Good tip @Skülly
I think Sam the Wheel in Brixton is still hanging in there, I might try him too.
He built my Harden/Asp wheels with galvanised 17/15 spokes years ago, I think they’ve got little moons on the heads, what brand is that 🤓🧐
