• Six week old puppies came to visit this week. A friend found them thrown in a bin on christmas eve (when I think about this too much it makes me so upset and angry, how people can treat animals like this absolutely boils my blood). They were so young that the blond one (Potato) still had her umbilical cord attached. The two of them together would fit in one human hand and they had to be fed every two hours. Potato is now rambunctious and hilarious although she did a poo on the living room floor. The little boy dog is as yet unnamed and just wants cuddles. We are seriously thinking about adopting him...

(Terrible photo cos puppies are wriggly)

  • What the actual fuck. Although the fact they’ve now ended up with decent humans is a massive win, of course.

  • That's so sad, amazing work by your friend for reducing them! Potato is a great name as well, maybe Parsnip or some other root vegetable based name would suit the boy pup?
Crumpet was found when she was absolutely tiny as well and she's turned out alright for the most part. The only issue we've noticed, which our walker attributes to possibly being separated from her mother very young, is quite a poor ability to read other dogs' body language. Particularly when they're either nervous or unfriendly towards her. We think it could be down to not being taught those cues by her mother when she was tiny. I don't know if it'd be an option to get them introduced to a friendly older dog whilst they're still young or not but it might help avoid those sorts of problems. Massive disclaimer though, I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.

  • Difficult to process how someone could do that but great work by your friend for taking them on.

Just sickening. It's so good they were saved.
