Just looked that up, the lights are nicer on this imo. Oh and the chonky bumpers that come on those things.

If that place hire by the hour garage has hydraulic ramps and hydraulic press for spring change, do it there if you can.
It's got ramps - not sure about spring clamps. I'm more reluctant about tackling that job tbh and might leave that to the pros - would a disk / (lowering) spring / damper change need a wheel alignment afterwards?

The excessive wear is on the inside of the front offside tyre. All tyres are the same make, model and (I think) age.
I have asked for confirmation that the replaced track rod end, is on the same side as the worn tyre.
With AWD vehicles, can one tyre be replaced? just the fronts? Or do all tyres need to be replaced at the same time? With modern AWD systems I'd look on net to confirm but I would want at least matching tyres across axle.

For disc replacement I wouldn't bother with wheel alignment as your not altering anything to do with wheel alignment. Would look at a dial guage ( this sort of thing is an example of one to get or borrow) to check that the discs are mounted flat to the hub and if the discs have minimal run out. Have had branded disc that have had excessive run out that had caused issues.
Lowering the car I'd check on specific forums to see if the amount you are lowering if you need to adjust caster/camber to keep the tyres square on the ground. Also what other adjustments are need such as different drop links to keep the anti roll bars within the and how to go about it.
I find it easier to work with other people, other set of eyes and other set of hands to help make it easier.

Yeah - it's stuff like that that makes me think I should leave that one. I'd be replacing the stock setup with the Mountune one which is meant to be a direct bolt on, but even so I'd definitley tackle the other changes before attempting this one.
I'd quite like to do it with someone - that's a good idea. I might see if I can rustle up a bit of support!

Yeah, defo an improvement 🤗

There are enough disgruntled ex roush europe/revolve employees to give you the details.
I'd find out what the suspension modification is, such as anti roll bars diameters and different bottom control arm lengths. Have no idea what the difference is, but you could look at part numbers between standard cars. But mounttune do have a fitting guide on the website if that helps.

Mention it here, there are people that will pop over to help/critique steal your tea or coffee and biccies.

Thoughts on a 2005 Forester X 2.0l non-turbo?

Dredge but I got round to doing this today. Fixed the problem perfectly, exactly the same way as yours. Now temp goes straight to 90 and stays there.
Just in time to sell it to my sister and pick up a new car tomorrow

Legend. Good work man. Try and make sure you’ve bled the system properly and you’ll be golden.

Today’s car fiasco.
Prepping to replace the Jazz’s cat tomorrow, I went in search of an m8x1.0 tap. Finally found an engineering supplier who had stock and drove over. They had a particularly aggressive speed bump and the e46 made a pretty loud bang as the front wheels dropped off the bump. Parked up and had a quick look underneath. Nothing obvious damaged or hanging off. Had a look at the bump and saw two rusted pan head screws lying on the floor.
Figured I should pick them up to at least save someone else getting a puncture. As I leave the place and drive up the road I notice a vibrating noise coming from the front driver’s side.
Fuck.
Seems to come on when accelerating slightly sporadically. Pull over and have another look. Can’t see owt.
Get home, jack it up, no play in the wheel so unlikely to be wheel bearing, and RWD so not CV joint. Could be ball joint/track arm but again no play in wheel.I stick my head under the car and notice a fresh scratch on the bottom of the subframe, and 3 spots that appear to be missing screws where the plastic panel attaches to the subframe. Grab the screws I picked up off the floor and bodge them back in. Fingers crossed this was all it was.
Very csb. But a bang followed by a vibrating noise on a 17yr old car is less than reassuring.
Sadly also noticed some small bubbles on the lower part of the drivers door :(

Followed the haynes which mentioned nothing about bleeding? Was fine on the hour drive home and the level barely dropped

Do you like 26mpg if you try really hard, whilst at the same time, never being able to move forwards as quickly as wind can blow?*
*However not much goes wrong with them, just rust on a lot by now, seen quite a few where the subframe at back/pick up points kinda rot out making life quite tricky.
Also consider the Mitsubishi equivalent, Outlander or ASX. -

Ah cool. I don’t actually know anything about the procedure for your car, just was given that info when I did mine. I’m sure Haynes have the info right!

Got this servo replacement bias pedal box for the Ignis, it’s basic but looks like it should work
(Second cylinder not pictured, only fitted one to check clearance)

There is the old adage of haynes book of lies.
No it doesn't.
Ok it really does, from the A post back even the door handle.
