I didn’t realise it was a lamp bracket that you’ve also fixed the ‘guards to : )

I have caps on my mudguard stays, they aren't cut flush. It allows fora bit of tweeking if needed. Maybe this is what people mean by "cut them" idk, but I hope you wont cut them down completely?
