Hi all, I can confirm it's still going, although it did sit in the garage for a while after I bought it, sorry. It has to be the bike I bought 4ish years ago on ebay? It's identical even to the valve caps. Life for us has moved on a bit with our 3 year old but he comes out with me on it now :) He and I rode to Crystal Palace park on it on Saturday and we even had a go on the skate park with him in the front seat and he wouldn't let me stop for a breather he loved it so much. He asked to be delivered to nursery on it this morning too.
When I got it I really thought the single speed would be such a limitation and that I wouldn't get on with it, but having rode single speed road bikes before and knowing they were great I wanted to give it a try. I can confirm though I was so wrong, single speed mountain bikes are superb.
You'll be amazed what you can climb, even with 12-14kg of child on the front and on the flat you just cruise along having an easy cycle enjoying the scenery. All the best jingrown and all.

Ha! Yes that’s it. Glad to see it’s still going strong.
Could you let me know your front seat and trailer set up. Have had two kids since that bike and looking for a similar thing to get both on one bike. Thanks.

The rear trailer is called "follow me tandem" and is indeed quite a good investment for a couple of years...

How easy is it to attach a detach from your bike? The website says it can be removed "in seconds". Does it feel.prettu sturdy for the kid on the back? Looks like a great solution for cycling to and from the park...

Yeah sure. @caemis is right it is a follow me tandem. They're good far far better than a tag along bike (not that I bothered trying one) the follow me let's you detatch their bike so they can ride the safer parts on their own. It wasn't cheep though I think it was more than I paid for the MTB and I guess the only other tricky part is all of the different fittings for different axle types on either to tow bike or trailer bike you have to get your head around and buy if you want to put it on different bikes. Otherwise though it's great and they can ride the bike behind you too but we haven't tried that yet mainly because he hadn't got any pedals yet and I wouldn't fancy being pulled along just purched only on the saddle.
The seat is a weeride deluxe. It is far more modestly priced than the above and still good. There are a few similar ones from humax or thule which could well be better but the weeride one is really common and easy to find pretty cheeply. He's nearly grown out of it though at 3 but that is the max age recommended by the manufacturer so it is not a surprise.
I have a burley solo trailer too which comes highly recommend, we've used that lots and lots. So you can tell I'll get anything bike related just so Daddy can keep riding himself and take junior along too :) but it's all well worth it and he loves time with Dad and Mum is happy when the boys get out from underfoot. Anyway sorry I am well off LFGSS topic now.

Hi riotkid so yes it detaches within seconds. Like 3 or 4 seconds really, but there is a but. The kids bike is off but you can't ride away with them until you pull a small pin and pull the follow me up and attach it to either the seat post rails or a rear rack with what must me an old toe strap they supply with it. This takes much longer than that and is a bit fiddly. I lost the toe strap on Saturday I think no major loss but I may find a better solution to this like perhaps a heavy duty quick release cable tie or just a better after market strap. It is a shame though for that to be the only weekness of an otherwise great product. It takes a little longer to attach the bike again but it is still pretty fast less the faffing with the strap. Practice helps too as you'd expect or any Brompton user will show you.
Not being small enough anymore to ride the rear part I can't be certain but it seems to be the most well engineered and sturdy a product you could possibly imagine. I am sure like me you wouldn't put your child on a cheep nasty dangerous bike so why pull him along with something that is? It's got to be the best commercial product of it's type on the market I haven't seen anything that even comes close but then that engineering isn't cheep but then neither are kids and a bike ride to the playground is a fun but very modest day out so it pays you back.
