Speaking of 10spd, they also do some kind of conversion kit so you can use cable 11spd road shifters with new 12 speed mtb cassettes. I saw an old Specialized Chisel being converted to a gravel bike using this stuff.

Yeah but is for SRAM isn't it? The long cage SRAM road derailleurs are pretty much the same size as the MTB ones. Still can use a XT 46t cassette, probably even 50 without changing anything.

I think the point was just the ability to use existing stuff or maybe convert older MTB to gravel with drop bar shifters. I dunno, I'm on Di2 and still looking for an MTB.
