The first few times its used it does stink
On a side note the fitter recommended going to b&m for their seasoned hard wood that is in the plastic bag rather than nets. It's also certified and kiln dried so ready to go. I popped down and it's cheap as chips at £4 bag,
At least it is Defra approved.
For you & yours to minimise particulate exposure you could avoid opening the doors: set a fire and let it burn out.
For the environment, burning fully seasoned wood reduces emissions.
