After upgrading trainer (went from Tacx vortex smart to Kickr Core which was defective to a Kickr) I have been suffering from hip flexor pain. It’s been so bad I have been struggling to walk upstairs etc. Been treating it with naproxen, rest and ice. After some research it may be that the rear axle on the kickr is higher than the Tacx so the hip angle has been crunched.
I’ll be checking this out later today to see if it was just this change in height that has caused the problem.
It’s annoying I upgraded to the Kickr because they didn’t have any Cores in stock to do an immediate replacement but I have only done one ride on the new trainer as the pain got so bad last week.
I'd be surprised if it was the turbo doing it. I had hip flexor pain once that initiated by running, the cause was muscle/flexibility imbalance caused by sitting with one leg over the other too much. I fixed it by doing a Reclined Hip Stretch twice a day.
