As ever, unconditional love to the Forum for the wealth of knowledge available the other side of a keyboard.
I'm guessing the truth in the 'My Amberalla' proposal is to keep one long enough to see if it does, indeed, turn golden-yellow as it ripens.

Has anyone got a link to the drawing posted on her a lot years ago where two fixie skidders meet, bond over their bikes and make love?

What saddle bag is the tallest, need >25cm from saddle loops to the base of the bag, approx 30cm would be even better. Carradice don’t seem to be much taller than 23 or 24cm. Any ideas?

Don't do the top straps up so tight as to hold the bag off the rack?
-
• #107007
To be fair that rack looks like you shouldn't put too much weight on it 🙂
-
• #107008
Yeah, get a real rack.

All my clothes are stiff as a board from washing. Never had this issue before assume it's a london hard water thing?
Have looked it up and its either too much detergent or not enough. Ive tried both.
Could it also be limescale buildup? Ive tried doing a vinegar wash and extra rinses but no change.
I just want soft clothes again 😩

They’ll be softer if you dry them outside in the sunshine, but they’ll only be really soft if you tumble dry them.
Which you should avoid doing really, because nuns, kittens and baby cyclists will die of global warming.

No loss, unless they're Pornhub nuns.

Are you familiar with washing soda?
Cheapest water softener stocked in most large-ish supermarkets. -

We line dry 90% our stuff (in the basement, because of my wife's terror of theft) and I much prefer the feel of clothing dried this way, to the point where I'm suspicious of clothing that's too soft and feel that it's not quite clean.

I ordered something a while ago from Aliexpress and the tracking showed the item as delivered, but I never received it.
It is possible my kid hid it, but due to the box it would have come in it is more likely than not, to have been given by hand and one of us would have seen it.
The seller has just sent me a screenshot of my order above. So I have re-explained that I haven't received it.
Any ideas on what my options are?
It's not a huge amount of money, but I'd still like the product and paying twice for it is bullshit.

We recently got a tumble dryer to deal with all the kids clothes over winter. I'm genuinely staggered by how soft and fluffy some things come out.
-
• #107017
None. Ali Express and the seller will take the tracking as gospel.
It might be with a neighbour or at the Royal Mail delivery office, or it might just turn up another day. Sometimes you can get more info putting the tracking number into another site rather than using the Ali Express summary.

Any ideas on what my options are?
I don’t know Aliexpress’ own policies, but I’d politely insist to the seller that it 100% wasn’t received, and ask that they contact the courier company for more specific info or to start a claim.
If you used PayPal, you might be protected. If you used a bank card, you’re almost definitely protected. Shouldn’t take much effort from you to successfully dispute a charge, just be sure to provide some screenshots of your due diligence to strengthen your case.

Cheers. It's odd as it's over a period where where in the 90% and almost always when the post arrives.
Annoyingly I discovered they have a webstore after purchase and I went on to buy other things, but the P&P would be half the cost if I buy again.
Maybe I'll just go through my credit card.

How can I make a video file smaller? Format is .3GP. WinZip doesnt make a significant difference.
EDIT: resolved

InDesign people.
Why does the bleed set up look ok in indesign, then when exporting to PDF using document bleed settings it comes out with the white line on the right side?
Also, when I package the indesign file into a folder, the pdf produced has just chopped the bleed off completely. Is the bleed info there, or does that get removed in the process?

Is this for a book or just a single sheet? It looks like the bleed is on to the next page (thin sliver of grey bottom left of your second image).
If you want this as a single print turn off 'facing pages' in the document set up.
For the packaged version .pdf: It's probably exporting as a different .pdf preset which has bleed turned off. Just delete this file and replace with a .pdf exported with your preferred settings.

It's for a book. So the image shown is the left hand page, and the right hand page below is white with text. Spoke with a mate who has assured me it's right.
Fuck knows.

• #107024
It's fine then, when the printers arrange all the single pages as spreads the bleed will be correct.

Cheers. I find all this stuff v confusing!
I'd say Pomelo but the stone in the middle doesn't sound right...
